Corporate Support and Sponsorships

AMC works with its association partners to create development opportunities that will provide them with the resources to carry out strategic objectives. We will conduct research, collect data, create proposals, and cultivate relationships to help you fulfill your mission.

We have experience in key development areas: working with foundations, fundraising through capital campaigns, and cultivating relationships with potential donors and corporate members to obtain financial support.

  • Industry Support: We establish partnerships within given industries to provide funding for our clients. In healthcare, for example, we write persuasive proposals to garner industry support for many initiatives; in fact, more than 100 grants are written annually seeking support from corporate partners for various programs and products. The following are some AMC successes in gaining industry support for our association partners:
    • Twelve satellite symposia established in conjunction with an association's annual meeting generated $660,000 in revenue that was used to support the cost of the meeting. This collaborative effort also provided benefits beyond the initial financial gain; by fostering its relationship with medical education companies, AMC strengthened a connection that will yield positive financial results and provide an educational opportunity for members and other attendees again and again.
    • To spark interest in the field of pain management among residents and fellows, a course was developed and sponsored at $300,000. More than 50 scholarships were awarded and applied toward attendance and related costs, such as travel.
    • To help increase attendance, one trade association raffled a car; they were able to raise $28,000 in sponsorship to support the meeting.
    • The funding from a corporate sponsor for an association's guideline covered the cost of publishing and generated a $250,000 profit. In addition, the sponsor used its experience and extensive industry network to increase the guideline's reach by disseminating it well beyond the association's membership.
  • Corporate Membership Programs: AMC effectively develops industry partnerships through corporate member programs. This way industry partners can share their expertise about the marketplace—at annual meetings, for instance—and this knowledge can be applied to develop new products and services.
  • Capital Campaigns: AMC initiates capital campaigns. For example, we led the American Pain Society through its "Dream No Small Dreams" fundraising campaign to raise awareness of pain and expand research and public policy initiatives. Since its inception in 2003, the campaign has raised more than $1.4 million, which helped APS create a Clinical Centers of Excellence in Pain Management Awards Program and support other initiatives such as evidence-based guideline development and grant funding.
  • Foundations: We cultivate donors by contacting private and corporate foundations and agencies at all levels—regional, national, and international. We seek funding from organizations whose missions align with those of our clients. As an example of a recent success in this area, working closely with the physician leaders of AAHPM, we wrote proposals and raised nearly $2 million in grants from foundations for infrastructure and for fellowship and mentorship programs.
