Marilyn Jansen receives John C. Thiel Distinguished Service Award from Forum
AMC is pleased to announce that Marilyn Jansen, Director of Business Development, has received the John C. Thiel Distinguished Service Award from the Association Forum of Chicagoland. The John C. Thiel Distinguished Service Award is presented to an individual member for exceptional, long-term, volunteer service to the Association Forum, primarily through committee service. Marilyn has held various volunteer roles over the years for the Forum, most notably serving as Membership SIG Chair, Diversity Workforce Chair, Mentor to two Diversity Scholars, and as a member of the Forum Board Selection Committee. Congratulations, Marilyn!

Mark Engle's Research Featured in ASAE's Leadership
Mark Engle, DM, FASAE, AMC Principal, was a featured author in ASAE's Leadership Issue, January, 2012. His article "Balanced Conflict, Better Decisions" showcases some of his recent research around high functioning boards, conflict, and decision making.

Mark Engle, AMC Principal, Receives 2011 Samuel B. Shapiro Award from Association Forum
Association Forum annually awards the Samuel B. Shapiro Award for Chief Executive Officer Excellence and recently announced that Mark Engle, CAE was named the 2011 recipient. The Shapiro award recognizes leaders who have made significant contributions within the association community and have made outstanding accomplishments in their professional and personal lives. Mark will be formally honored, at the Association Forum Honors Gala on June 16.

Engles Inducted Into the UIC Chicago Area Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame
The second generation of Engles—Scott, Jeff, and Mark—were inducted into the UIC Chicago Area Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame on Thursday, February 24. Their father, Arthur Engle, was inducted in 1993. Scott, Jeff, and Mark are the principals of Association Management Center (AMC), a full-service association management firm serving professional, healthcare, and trade organizations.
