AMC's culture of caring extends into local and national communities. We embrace the importance of social responsibility and are committed to making positive contributions to the community.

AMC's Volunteer Statement

We are proud of our employees for their volunteer efforts and it is important to us that we support them.

At AMC, we strongly believe in the power of partnerships. We recognize that in addition to being instrumental in supporting our clients in achieving what they believe, our employees make positive contributions to their communities and make a difference in the lives of others. To that end, AMC strives to support community initiatives and to give back to those in need. AMC has elected to primarily focus its efforts and support around organizations that enhance the quality of life of those in need by providing shelter—in the form of physical buildings and tangible items that accompany them and the support and encouragement needed to maintain a safe place to call home.

For many years, AMC has supported organizations that provide shelter, such as Habitat for Humanity, Solid Rock Carpenters, Park Ridge Youth Campus, Chicago Abused Women's Coalition (CAWC), Snug Hugs for Kids, The Women's Center, and various food and clothing drives.

Solid Rock Carpenters

At AMC, that commitment is demonstrated by our enduring passion for construction. In 2005, we extended our commitment to Habitat for Humanity by founding and actively participating in Solid Rock Carpenters, a local nonprofit organization that is dedicated to providing decent affordable housing to people in need, most recently in Hurricane Katrina ravaged, Washington Parish, in Louisiana. SRC has also expanded its efforts with local Illinois charities: Breakthrough Ministries and Breaking Ground. Annually, we hold a "framing day" in our parking lot, where employees pitch in to frame houses for those in need.

Environmental Stewardship Committee

At AMC, we also strive to be good stewards of the environment. AMC established its Environmental Stewardship Committee (ESC) in 2008. We recognize that going green is a journey. It's not a competition, there is no finish line, and those further on the path are willing to share their knowledge and provide encouragement for others to take the first steps. Much has been accomplished since ESC's inception, including establishing best practice guidelines for each department of AMC.

ESC Mission Statement

The purpose of the ESC is to promote environmental sustainability in the office, in our homes, and in our client meetings by:

• using alternative sources of energy and fewer non-renewable resources
• reducing the production of waste and pollution
• conserving and recycling resources.

From new recycling programs to earth-focused projects, fun and educational activities allow our entire staff to work together, a little at a time, to reduce our impact on the planet.

AMC recently adopted ASAE and the Center's Global Principles for Socially Responsible Associations & Nonprofits further showing our commitment to working toward a better world in ways that also benefit the associations we manage and their members.
