Mission
AMC is dedicated to promoting thought leadership, providing responsive and thoughtful customer service and working strategically with our association partners to best serve their unique needs.
History
AMC was founded by Art Engle in 1974 in Glenview, Illinois. From Art's own experience in managing associations, he believed a business approach to association management would lead to success for both his clients and AMC itself. In 1976, Art's wife Dagny Engle joined the company with a background in nursing and healthcare management.
Today, AMC is owned and operated by the second generation of the Engle family: Scott, Jeff and Mark. Together, they have helped propel AMC and its client organizations along a steady path of success. Each is responsible for different aspects of daily operations. They meet regularly to make strategic decisions, play an active role in maintaining relationships with client boards of directors and are heavily involved in the transition process for new clients.
Philosophy
As a family-owned company, AMC derives its success from a belief in the concept of family in which each member respects, trusts, encourages and supports the other.
We are committed to the prosperity of our clients and the development of our staff, and view them as members of our family.
We conduct our business in an equitable and ethical manner.
We make every effort to provide cost-effective, high-quality services that not only meet client expectations, but also address challenges in creative ways.
We respect our clients' responsibility to set their own goals and make their own choices and use our management and leadership expertise to guide and support them.
We value the individuality and professionalism of each member of our staff, and expect excellence in performance for our clients, and for our company.
